At the Leipzig Winter Marathon, three runners form a team to run either a marathon or a half marathon together. This is not a relay, as all team members complete the entire distance simultaneously. The team's finishing time counts for the ranking, but each finisher receives a certificate and is listed in the results. Teams can decide during the race whether they want to drop out after the half marathon distance. The loop course runs through Clara Zetkin Park and Nonne, consisting of 10 laps of 4.2 km each.
